Like many people who are interested in games, I have a long backlog of titles I want to try but just haven’t gotten to yet. This simple series is an attempt to occasionally remind myself of what’s in that backlog in hopes of inspiring myself — and maybe even someone else — to finally try it.
Wander Wizards is a solo-journaling TTRPG by StarshineScribbles on itch.io that is intended to be played “while walking around your favorite places and going about your day-to-day routine.” It uses just a coin and some way to keep notes, and the mechanics are based on simple math for user-friendliness.
A letter from Princess Ellipse, presenting the game’s premise.
I have wanted to try a solo TTRPG for a while now, but it can be difficult to find time just to sit down and work at one when I have plenty of other things to do. But this appears designed to fit in with the player’s routine — relies on it, even — and could even infuse a normal day with a little chance and magic. If nothing else, it’s a great excuse to get out and walk some more.
